Transgender Parent and Non-Binary Advocacy Caucus Condemns Destructive, Discriminatory and Un-American Anti-LGBTQIA+ Executive Orders
Senator Melissa Ratcliff (D-Cottage Grove) and Representative Ryan Clancy (D-Milwaukee) co-chairs of the Transgender Parent and Non-Binary Advocacy Caucus (TPANAC) released the following statement on the barrage of anti-LGBTQIA+ Executive Orders issued yesterday by President Trump:
“No matter how hateful, no executive order can erase years of progress, resilience and perseverance. Equal protection under the law is a cornerstone of American democracy and is not subject to the whims and prejudices of an incoming President. Nor can President Trump, with the stroke of his sharpie, write off the lived reality and experience of transgender and non-binary Americans. We know these orders will be the subject of national litigation. Here in Wisconsin, we and our Democratic colleagues will continue to do everything in our power to protect, respect, and support our transgender and non-binary communities.”
