Track & Field Competes at Blue Demon Alumni Classic Saturday
Waterstradt and Kingsley set new top 10 marks
CHICAGO – Marquette University track & field competed at the Blue Demon Alumni Classic on Saturday at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track & Field Center at Gately Park.
“Overall, I was very pleased with the performances today,” Bert Rogers said. “We competed well and had a few top 10 marks.”
William Waterstradt ran the sixth-fastest 60h in program history at 8.36 seconds in the prelims.
Annika Bynum finished first in the high jump at 1.71m. It was the senior’s 13th first-place finish in the high jump in her career.
Julia Beck finished fourth in the 60h at 8.92 seconds. Maggie Olejnik finished fourth in the triple jump at 10.97m.
Aaron Hughes finished fourth in the 200m at 21.79 seconds.
NOTABLES:
- Emily Capper set a PR in the mile at 5:09.95 to finish 16th.
- Pedro Castanon set a PR in the weight throw at 14.53m to finish 10th.
- Haley Shaffer set a PR in the long jump at 5.39m to finish sixth.
- K.T. Thomas set a PR in the 400m at 50.60 seconds to finish ninth.
- Norah O’Brian set a PR in the 400m at 58.53 seconds to finish sixth.
- Emma Coon set a PR in the 300m at 10:09.17 to finish 20th.
UP NEXT: Marquette splits up next weekend for the GVSU Big Meet (Feb. 14) in Allendale, Michigan and the Dick Hendricks Invite (Feb. 15) in Ripon, Wisconsin.
