Tom Tiffany’s Vote Says Wisconsinites Don’t Deserve Affordable Health Care
Today, Tom Tiffany once again voted against extending the Affordable Care Act’s enhanced premium tax credits, blocking a bipartisan extension that helps working families afford health coverage. Tiffany’s vote sides with Washington Republicans over Wisconsin families who rely on affordable health insurance.
“With this vote, Tom Tiffany made it clear that he’s perfectly fine with higher health care costs and more uninsured Wisconsinites,” said Tiffiany Vaughn, spokesperson for American Bridge 21st Century. “At a time when families are already being squeezed by rising costs, Tiffany chose party politics over the health and financial security of Wisconsin families — and voters won’t forget it.”
Tiffany’s vote comes after he publicly attacked ACA subsidies, claiming expanded coverage makes people “dependent,” and arguing against extending the very tax credits that keep premiums affordable for Wisconsinites.
Tom Tiffany’s attacks on health care include:
- Tiffany voted for the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which included devastating health care cuts to fund tax cuts for the wealthy
- Tiffany voted for more than 30,000 people in rural Wisconsin to lose Medicaid coverage and to cut up to $600 million from state rural hospitals— and was proud of it
- Tiffany unjustly argued that Democrats used Affordable Care Act subsidies to justify a shutdown and influence the 2025 Elections
