MADISON, Wis. — Even after the State of the Union where Trump defended his new 15% global tariffs, Tom Tiffany has remained silent on the new policy. Tiffany continues to defend the tariffs, even after the Supreme Court ruled them illegal.
Tariffs have rocked the Wisconsin economy—from small businesses struggling with higher operating costs to soybean farmers being cut out of global markets to losing thousands of manufacturing jobs, Tiffany’s favored economic policy has been a disaster for Wisconsinites.“Tom Tiffany’s tariffs are the reason Wisconsinites are forced to spend more every week on groceries, small businesses are squeezed by higher operating costs and farmers are going bankrupt,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Emily Stuckey. “For Tom Tiffany to double down after this massive tax hike has been declared illegal is a slap in the face to working people. Tiffany has sold Wisconsin out to D.C. corruption and chaos—and voters won’t forget it.”
