The Wisconsin Club Introduces First Female President in 134 Years

By - Oct 29th, 2025 09:44 am

For the first time in its 134-year history, The Wisconsin Club, Milwaukee’s premier private city club, has elected a woman to lead its board. Kathie Eilers will officially become the 80th Board President on November 1, 2025, a milestone that celebrates the Club’s legacy and signals its vision for the future.

A seasoned leader with experience on civic and organizational boards and a former Interim General Manager of the Club, Kathie combines strategic insight with a collaborative, inclusive approach. Her presidency is about shaping what’s next for the Club and its members.

Under her leadership, the Club will:

  • Expand membership across generations while keeping longtime members engaged.
  • Reinvest in growth by upgrading technology, facilities and member services.
  • Protect history and plan for the future with a Preservation Fund for the historic Mitchell

Mansion and updated programs that reflect modern lifestyles.

With her sharp wit and enthusiasm, Kathie provides a great interview. Let me know if you’d like me to schedule some time with her for you. I’ve also attached a press release with additional information on the announcement.

About Kathie Eilers:

Kathie Eilers is an accomplished executive and civic leader with more than four decades of experience guiding major health and community organizations. She served as president and CEO of Saint John’s Communities and as administrator of the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division, where she led the development of a nationally recognized, community-based system of care.

About the Wisconsin Club:

Founded in 1891, the Wisconsin Club is a historic private city club located in Milwaukee’s former Mitchell Mansion, once home to Alexander Mitchell, a prominent railroad and banking magnate and great uncle of General Billy Mitchell, the World War I hero and namesake of Milwaukee’s airport. Recognized as a Forbes Distinguished Club, it offers members premier dining, social, and cultural experiences while honoring its heritage.
