MILWAUKEE – The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County has named Tim Nemec its new Advisory Board Chair.

“My number one goal is to build a more robust Advisory Board and get all members committed to The Salvation Army, where they are all pitching in to make it a successful organization,” Nemec said.

Along with Major Beverly Gates, Commander for The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County, Nemec will lead a 21-member advisory board that provides guidance, supports the Army financially, and contributes with volunteer service and interagency relations.

“We are excited to welcome Tim as the new Chair,” said Major Beverly Gates, Commander for The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County. “His extensive experience and proven leadership will be invaluable as we navigate new opportunities and challenges. We are confident that we will continue to grow and excel under his guidance.”

Nemec is the Vice President of Commercial Banking at Tri City National Bank and has been a member of The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County’s Advisory Board for three years. He has had a long and successful career in banking, working in Milwaukee, Madison, and Eau Claire. Tim attended Wisconsin Indianhead Technical Institute to obtain his degree in accounting before starting his career.

He has extensive experience volunteering in multiple capacities, including being a youth football, basketball, and baseball coach and serving on the baseball and softball Board of Directors. He is an active member of his church and has been a Sunday School teacher and a member of his church finance committee.

“I was brought up to believe that no matter who you are, what you do or how much you have, there are many others that are not as fortunate as you are,” Nemec said. “As a Christian, it is incumbent upon us to assist those that are less fortunate.  No matter what you do, it is the community we live in that makes you successful and prosperous.  We need to give back to that community and make sure others in it have what they need and the opportunity to continue to make it a safe and welcoming place to live and work.”
