"The court’s demand for an election now when both seats will also be on the November ballot is unnecessary and duplicative," said spokesman Mattias Gugel.

Brookfield, Wis. — After Gov. Scott Walker called special elections for the 1st Senate District and 42nd Assembly District, Leah Vukmir’s campaign issued the following statement Thursday from spokesman Mattias Gugel:

“The court’s demand for an election now when both seats will also be on the November ballot is unnecessary and duplicative. Once again, all logical thought processes fail to exist, and the taxpayers are on the hook.”

“These elections should be held with the standard timeline and procedures as the general election. Due to the hasty speed of special elections, Wisconsinites ought to be concerned about our military members who deserve to have their votes counted. The quick turnaround gives legitimate concern that those who wear the uniform will be left out.

“Fortunately, Republicans have a field of talented candidates running for the Legislature, particularly both candidates for the 1st Senate District.  Leah is excited to see whom voters will ultimately pick as their conservative nominee and will remain neutral in the primary race.”

Leah Vukmir is a nurse, military mom and conservative with a proven record who has stood with Gov. Walker in cutting taxes and implementing bold reforms. She is running for the U.S. Senate to bring the Wisconsin Way to Washington. She currently serves as a state senator from Brookfield.

Don’t try to sound like you care about counting every vote because you and your party have been trying to suppress the vote forever. You and the despicable governor Walker are two peas in a pod when it comes to power and voter suppression. The republican party is the party of sexual predators, liars, climate deniers, polluters, judicial abusers, bigots and racists, and corruption. I hope you are proud of your brand.

  2. Terry says:

Go away you corrupt old lying hag. The law is the law and the courts have ruled! YOU republican liars, cheaters and schemers LOSE! Guess what, free and fair elections and people’s constitutionally protected right to vote are never “too expensive” as the judge said. If Walker had simply followed the LAW and ordered the special elections in December after he nominated the two representatives to his administration the elections would be done and over already. So thankful for these wise judges and for the National Redistricting Foundation that sued Walker and won! Walker and Vukmir got their butts spanked by Wric Holder, too funny! Well, that’s what they get for lying, cheating and svheming and trying to steal people’s right to vote. Well, time to go donate to the National Redistricting Foundation and throw a few more bucks towards One Wisconsin Now. So sorry again Vukmir but YOU LOSE! You better get used to losing because there’s a lot more losing to come for all you corrupt, scheming republicans.

    Dump Vukmir 2018
    Dump Walker 2018
    Dump Vos 2018
    Dump Fitzgerald 2018
    Dump Schimel 2018
    Dump ALL republicans 2018!

    Eric Holder

    @EricHolder
As the WISCONSIN judge said yesterday, “Representative government and the election of our representatives are never ‘unnecessary,’ never a ‘waste of taxpayer resources,’”

We will continue to advocate for the people of Wisconsin whose voting rights you have undermined and diluted

  4. WashCoRepub says:

Well said Rep. Vukmir, well said! Looking forward to seeing you in the first round of debates.

  5. Tom says:

Can’t wait to watch this far right-wing harpie lose

  6. KRalph says:

All Scottie had to do after appointing the 2 individuals to his Admin, was to call the elections to coincide with the spring general election April 3rd.
What’s the big deal in doing that…….dum, dum, dum!

  7. Steven Hodges says:

Vukmir is a Republican coat-tails hack concerned about the party, not the people. Don’t believe her! I tend to not trust any politician from white-washed Waukesha county.
