Supervisors Speak Out on The Rock Sound Levels Post-Audit Committee Review

By - Sep 18th, 2023 11:13 am

MILWAUKEE – Last week, the Committee on Audit heard a study on The Rock Sports Complex’s sound levels. Supervisors Patti Logsdon, Kathleen Vincent and Felesia Martin made the following statements:

“The findings of the audit cannot be overlooked. Our residents’ peace and quiet are paramount, and the disturbances caused by the excessive noise from The Rock complex is a concern I intend to tackle head-on,” said Supervisor Logsdon. “My commitment remains strong in ensuring our community’s concerns are addressed and rectified.”

Kathleen Vincent stated, “It’s evident that while some activities at The Rock are in compliance, there are clear violations that need immediate attention. As a newer Supervisor, these concerns began well before my time in office. It is my sincere hope that the management at the Rock will see this study and understand that they have the ability to be good neighbors to the surrounding residents by addressing the concerns listed in the report. It would be a win to all parties if a resolution can be reached in the near future. I will continue to advocate for the residents in my District.”

Supervisor Felesia Martin echoed the sentiment, “The data doesn’t lie. While The Rock has been an asset to our community in many ways, it’s essential they adhere to sound regulations. We stand united in ensuring the necessary measures are taken to alleviate the noise issues.

Among the study’s recommendations are design improvements at Franklin Field, sound calibration for the Umbrella Bar, notifications and limitations on firework events, sound mitigation for the Hill Has Eyes event, and changes to compliance monitoring locations.
