Supervisor Logsdon Applauds $1 Million Gift to Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens
MILWAUKEE – The Bucyrus Foundation recently donated $1 million to the Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens Inc. for the organization to grow its endowment.
“I would like to thank the Bucyrus Foundation for their generous gift which will bolster the long-term future of our beloved Boerner Botanical Gardens,” said County Supervisor Patti Logsdon, whose district includes the botanical gardens. “Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens has been an incredible partner to Milwaukee County. I commend them for their dedication to ensuring that one of the jewels of our parks system remains a place where families can explore and enjoy nature.”
Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens was founded in 1984. The organization helps sustain and preserve the county-owned botanical gardens located at Whitnall Park in Hales Corners.
Boerner Botanical Gardens includes colorful and fragrant displays laid out in 12 formal gardens. It draws roughly 170,000 visitors per year.
