Supervisor Kathleen Vincent Participated in Point-in-Time Homeless Outreach
MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee County Supervisor Kathleen Vincent participated in another Point-in-Time (PIT) homeless outreach effort on Wednesday evening, January 28, 2026, joining outreach teams as dangerously low temperatures continued to grip Wisconsin.
Supervisor Vincent worked alongside the Milwaukee County Homeless Outreach Team, Outreach Community Health Center, Streetwise, Community Outreach staff, and WUWM to engage directly with residents experiencing homelessness, emphasizing the importance of human connection, compassion, and mental health support during extreme weather:
“Every person I met last night reminded me how much strength, humanity, and resilience exists in our community,” said Supervisor Vincent. “When someone is struggling, especially in this kind of cold, what often matters most is knowing they are seen, valued, and not alone. Sometimes a helping hand and a moment of kindness can make all the difference. Our dedicated staff deserve all of the credit in the world for the difficult work they do for our most vulnerable residents.”
Supervisor Vincent expressed gratitude for outreach teams who continue this work during the harshest conditions, noting that cold-weather outreach is both a public safety and mental health necessity.
