On Monday, the results of a union election for Colectivo Coffee workers across Wisconsin and Illinois was announced, with employees voting in favor of organizing a union by a margin of 106-99.

“Congratulations to the employees at Colectivo Coffee for working to organize a union and winning their election, certifying the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 494 as their bargaining representative,” said Supervisor Czarnezki. “I call on Colectivo ownership to respect the results of the union certification election and bargain in good faith with their employees.”

Upon the election’s certification by the National Labor Relations Board, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 494 will develop the group’s first negotiated contract.

Colectivo Coffee will likely be the largest café chain in the United States to organize.
