Supervisor Coggs-Jones’ Invest in our Neighborhood Highway Clean-Up a Success
MILWAUKEE – On Saturday, April 29, 2023, Supervisor Priscilla E. Coggs-Jones, in partnership with State Senator Lena Taylor, Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs, State Representative Kalan Haywood, the Community Reintegration Center, Big Clean MKE, the Milwaukee Department of Transportation, 7th Street Foods, West Care, McDonald’s, and the Northcott Neighborhood House hosted their inaugural Invest in our Neighborhood Highway Clean-Up. Supervisor Coggs-Jones made the following statement:
“I was humbled to see our community come together to take care of our neighborhood. Today’s event took place right in the heart of the 13th District and I am proud to say it was a huge success,” said Supervisor Coggs-Jones “During the event, we emphasized the importance of keeping our neighborhoods clean and healthy. It was inspiring to see the dedication of our partners and volunteers who share this vision and were instrumental in making this event a success. Thanks to their support and commitment, we were able to make a significant difference in our community. We will continue to build on today’s success and work towards a cleaner, more vibrant Milwaukee County. Thank you all for your hard work and perseverance through the rain!”
The event was held from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and started at 920 W. North Avenue. Participants were greeted by Supervisor Coggs-Jones who provided zone assignments and brief remarks.
The group of 40 volunteers removed trash in a 15-block radius throughout the day.
