Statement on the 2025 NGAUS General Conference & Exhibition in Milwaukee

From Common Council President José G. Pérez August 21, 2025

By - Aug 21st, 2025 09:16 am

This weekend, Milwaukee will be hosting up to 4,000 members of the National Guard Association of the United States for the 2025 NGAUS General Conference & Exhibition, taking place at the Baird Center (August 22–25).

The attendees – Army and Air National Guard officers from all 50 states, three territories and the District of Columbia – will be staying at hotels across downtown, and some of them will be wearing their Occupational Camouflage Pattern (OCP) uniforms while attending sessions and activities.

This is a regularly scheduled national conference that rotates among cities across the country. It should be noted that attendees are NOT here as part of any immigration enforcement activities. Attendees are here solely to enjoy their conference, and all the amenities our great city has to offer.

This is a conference that has been pre-planned for over a year, and I want to again reassure residents that this is in no way related to policing efforts in our city.
