Statement on Sen. Marco Rubio Event Cancellation
MADISON, Wis. — Milwaukee Common Council President José Pérez released the following statement in response to the cancellation of Sen. Marco Rubio’s Republican Party of Wisconsin event:
“Even Marco Rubio is backing away after the hateful, racist attacks on Puerto Ricans at Donald Trump’s rally. These kinds of divisive comments aren’t just words – they show exactly what Trump’s Project 2025 is all about: rolling back rights, hurting families, and gutting our communities. Wisconsin deserves better.”NOTE: This press release was submitted to Urban Milwaukee and was not written by an Urban Milwaukee writer.
