State Rep. Mayadev Reacts to Governor Evers’ Biennial Budget
Madison, WI – Today, Governor Evers delivered his biennial budget address and highlighted critical investments in Wisconsin youth. Following the address, Representative Renuka Mayadev released the following statement:
“This budget also prioritizes the health of moms and babies by expanding maternal health initiatives, increasing access to prenatal and postnatal care, and advancing policies that lead to healthier outcomes for families. The budget also includes postpartum coverage for pregnant women on Badgercare. Wisconsin is one of the last two states in America that does not cover mothers during the year post-delivery. Given the strong bipartisan support, I agree with Governor Evers, ‘Let’s just get it done.’
“This is a moment for action. I look forward to working with Governor Evers and my legislative colleagues to pass a budget that puts children and working families first.”
Representative Mayadev will be hosting a State Budget Listening Session for Assembly District 77 on February 28th at 1:00pm. Details on the location are forthcoming.
