Sprecher Brewery to Have Fun Celebrating Dads on Father’s Day

Glendale, Wis. – Sprecher, Milwaukee’s original craft brewery, in operation since 1985, is planning a bunch of fun ways to celebrate dads this Father’s Day, Sunday, June 16.

The Brewery, located at 701 Glendal Avenue in Glenda will be open from 11 am to 6 pm on Father’s Day for brewery tours. Tours cost $12 for adults over 21. Minors cost $5 and children under 5 are always free. All tours are 45 minutes and include a commemorative glass, 4, 8-ounce beer samples for those 21 years of age or older, and unlimited craft soda. Sprecher’s beer hall will also have the Brewer’s game on its televisions starting at 1:10 pm.

At 2 pm, the brewery will be hosting the “World’s Shortest Book Reading and Signing” of the board book Daddy Likes Beer by local author (and dad of three girls) Mike Lukaszewicz in the brewery’s gift shop.

At 3 pm, the fun will continue when Sprecher hosts a Root Beer Mug Holding Contest similar in concept to the traditional Bavarian Steinholding contests. Teams, consisting a dad (or father figure) and a child will compete against each other. Dads will have to stick our their arms holding a glass liter full of root beer for as long as they can while their kid teammates will have to stick out their arms holding a full glass root beer mug or plastic root beer mug depending on their heat and heat.  All heats will be age-based. The entry fee is $10 per team with all fees benefiting Feeding America. The winning team will receive root beer for a year (a 12 pack of root beer monthly for 12 months) and a cooler full with Sprecher goods.

All dads visiting the brewery on Father’s Day will receive a Sprecher swag bag with 2 drink tokens for a future visit; a Friday Family Date Night free root beer float add on coupon; a Sprecher bottle opener; a brew good things koozie; Milwaukee flag sticker; and one custom label bottle of Father’s Day Root Beer.  The taproom bar and snack kitchen will be open to all visitors. Guests do not need to go on a tour or participate in any competitions to visit Sprecher.
