“Songs With and Without Words” at Pajama Jamboree Season Finale May 8
All “Pajama Jamboree” concerts have free admission.
Milwaukee, Wis.—Festival City Symphony (FCS) will conclude its “Pajama Jamboree” season with Songs With and Without Words Pajama Jamboree, a free concert on Wed., May 8, 2019, at 7:00 pm in the Bradley Pavilion of the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.
Concert host Jayne Perkins will lead attendees in a sing-along with the orchestra. Musical selections will include America the Beautiful (Samuel Ward, arr. Reed), selections from The Sound of Music (Richard Rodgers), American Salute (Morton Gould), Fantasia on Greensleeves (Ralph Vaughan Williams), and American Frontier (arr. Calvin Custer). The concert will close with the popular Festival City Symphony tradition of young audience members conducting the orchestra’s finale, On Wisconsin (William T. Purdy).
Attendees should enter through the main entrance on 929 N. Water Street. If they park in the Marcus Center lot, they are welcome to use the third level skywalk, which opens at 6:00 pm.
All “Pajama Jamboree” concerts have free admission. Music Director Emeritus Monte Perkins conducts the Pajama Jamboree series and Jayne Perkins hosts these popular programs that engage audiences and welcome children, parents, and grandparents to attend in casual dress or pajamas. The audience is invited to bring a blanket and sit on the floor, up close to “meet” the orchestra. Conventional seating is also available. Pajama Jamborees are best suited for children in K4 through fifth grade.
