Senator Herb Kohl Endorses Tia Torhorst for Assembly District 10
The longtime Democratic Senator endorsed Tia because of her commitment to voters.
MILWAUKEE – Tia Torhorst, candidate for the 10th Assembly District, is proud to announce the endorsement of retired Senator Herb Kohl. The longtime Democratic Senator endorsed Tia because of her commitment to voters, her passion for making a difference and her 15 years of progressive leadership.
“I have known Tia and her family for more than a decade and am confident she will be a dedicated public servant for all the residents of the 10th Assembly District. I’ve seen her passion and integrity and know she will make a difference in Madison,” Kohl said.
Tia has a long record of leadership and results supporting and working on progressive and democratic issues. She currently sits on the Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin Board; she has also worked for the Wisconsin AIDS Fund, Milwaukee Bar Association, National Partnership for Women and Families and County Executive Chris Abele.
“Senator Kohl is one of the most respected leaders in Wisconsin history. For more than two decades he set the standard for public service in Wisconsin and across the Country,” Torhorst said. “I’m proud to have Senator Kohl’s support and I promise to work hard to live up to the standard he set and values he stands for.”
Tia is a UW-Madison graduate who lives in Shorewood with her husband Brian Spahn, who was born and raised in Shorewood. Tia and Brian have two children.
The 10th Assembly District primary is next Tuesday, August 12th.
