Senate Majority Leader Fitzgerald Releases Statement on Latest Evers Administration Appointments
"I have heard serious concerns over the governor-elect appointing a provocative figure to head the Department of Transportation who is a long-time advocate for special interests."
[Madison, WI] — Following the announcement of four more cabinet appointments today from Governor-elect Evers, Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald released the following statement:
“I have heard serious concerns over the governor-elect appointing a provocative figure to head the Department of Transportation who is a long-time advocate for special interests. Governor-elect Evers would be better served by nominating someone who worked in a less controversial role during previous policy debates.
“As always, we will rely on the Senate process for confirmations and I look forward to working with the governor-elect on his appointees.”
Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau) represents the 13th Senate District, which covers portions of Dodge, Jefferson, Waukesha, Washington, Dane, and Columbia counties.

I find Fitzgerald’s whining to be less than honest. When did complain when Walker nominated members to his cabinet that were in the pockets of special interest? Yet another example of hold Republicans believe the rules apply differently to them.
Fitzgerald is showing his hypocrisy once again. Well said mkwagner.
Special interests – you mean ordinary people? My mom had a saying, “The pot calling the Kettle black!”
