Senate Democratic Leader Reacts to Republican Medical Marijuana Proposal

By - Jan 8th, 2024 12:44 pm

MADISON, Wis – Today, Assembly Republicans announced a highly restrictive plan to legalize marijuana for medicinal purposes in Wisconsin. Senate Democratic Leader Dianne Hesselbein (D-Middleton) released the following statement:

“I have long supported marijuana for recreational and medicinal use in Wisconsin, and I am glad that my Republican colleagues are joining the conversation for medicinal use. While this proposal is a small step in the right direction, I fear that it may be too restrictive as Speaker Vos previously stated.

“We do not need the most restrictive medicinal program in the nation, we need the most effective.

“I look forward to reviewing the proposal in greater detail and working with community stakeholders and advocates to ensure this proposal prioritizes the needs of patients.”

This bill as presented by the Repubs is weak, fairly meaningless and overall total bullshit.
