Senate Democratic Leader Dianne Hesselbein on Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair’s Decision to not Seek Re-election

MADISON, Wis – In response to the news that Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair, Ben Wikler, has decided to not seek another term as Chair, Senate Democratic Leader Dianne Hesselbein released the following statement:

“When Ben was elected Chair six years ago nobody could have dreamed about the lasting, meaningful infrastructure he would go on to build at WisDems. Through innovation, grit, and a ton of hard work, he transformed our State Party into a national powerhouse – with the results to show for it. While he won’t be at the helm in 2026 when we flip the legislature, it will be because of Ben’s efforts that we are able to do so. Thank you, Mr. Chairman, for all that you have done and I look forward to continuing our partnership together.”
