(MADISON) – State Senator Tim Carpenter (D-Milwaukee) today issued the following statement regarding the appointment of newly-elected Senator Caleb Frostman to the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (“WEDC”):

“Senator Frostman’s experience and knowledge gained while serving as the Executive Director of the Door County Economic Development Corporation will bring new talent and energy to the WEDC Board. Senator Frostman deserves this appointment.”

“After meeting with and listening to Senator Frostman speak, I knew he was the most qualified Senator to fight for the creation of new family-supporting jobs. I appreciated the willingness of Senator Shilling to listen to my idea of stepping down and giving Senator Frostman this opportunity.”

“Given his background and expertise, Senator Frostman is a perfect appointment to the WEDC Board. This appointment will allow him to serve his district and Wisconsin using the skills he attained prior to being elected to the Senate.”
