WEST ALLIS – School Choice Wisconsin issued the following statement after Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu announced legislation to strengthen and solidify the school choice programs in Wisconsin with increased per-pupil funding.

“This is great news, not only for the students and families that participate in Wisconsin’s choice programs, but for the entire state,” SCW President Nicholas Kelly said. “Students in our private choice schools grow academically and spiritually in our classrooms and are beacons of hope in our communities once they graduate. This important funding will ensure these opportunities exist for a long time. Thank you to Speaker Vos, Majority Leader LeMahieu and Governor Evers for working across the aisle and with choice advocates to come to an historic agreement that puts students first. School Choice Wisconsin applauds your willingness to work together so that students attending all schools in Wisconsin – public, private choice and charter are supported with additional resources.”

My parents and church community gave me a religious education the old fashion way: they paid for it themselves because it was important. Now families and church communities get the State to pick up the bill for a religious education. How can a church maintain its sense of a faith community when families can be involved without making the financial commitment that families have historically done. The core doctrine will be compromised to keep the non or marginal believers in the school so the church can collect more money from the school choice program.

    Agree with Mingus.

This is about indoctrination of little kids into magical thinking and being good little soldiers for the rCons’ benefactors. If you believe a 30+ year old jewish guy is going to float down from the sky with a kick ass band and light show and set all the wrongs for all eternity right, you’ll believe anything.

A god that picks winners and losers based on ovarian lottery? Not such a much.
