Milwaukee, WI – Sixteen resident birds of prey line the trails at Schlitz Audubon Nature Center’s Xtreme Raptor Day on Saturday, November 8, 2025. The annual event takes place from 10:00am – 4:00pm at 1111 E Brown Deer Rd, Milwaukee.

This Center-wide festival celebrates the world of raptors—including hawks, owls, falcons, and eagles—with up-close encounters and interactive activities for all ages. The Center’s acclaimed Raptor Program will showcase its entire team of resident, non-releasable birds, including not only raptors but also an American Crow.

The festival features Valkyrie, a female Bald Eagle that has been seen at events throughout Milwaukee, most recently during the National Anthem at Milwaukee Brewers and Milwaukee Bucks games. The newest member of the Raptors of Schlitz Audubon, a Turkey Vulture named Darwin, will also appear at this event.

Xtreme attendees will receive a passport to participate in a Talon Quest Adventure Hike on our trails, where they will see and learn about our different birds and their species as a whole.

This event supports our Raptor Program, which educates the community about the importance of wildlife and habitat conservation with the help of our non-releasable birds.

Some of the other activities that attendees will enjoy:

  • Dive into the lives of owls with camouflage activities and feather exploration
  • Participate in science experiments in our Raptor Lab
  • Register for a personal raptor meet & greet and have your photo taken

Xtreme Raptor Day is $18 for adults and $15 for youth. This event will take place rain or shine.
