Sarah Godlewski earns key endorsement from End Citizens United
Godlewski is the first statewide candidate in Wisconsin to earn this major endorsement.
Madison, WI – End Citizens United (ECU) announced today that its state level project, Fight for Reform, is endorsing Sarah Godlewski in the Democratic primary election for Wisconsin State Treasurer. This endorsement is a recognition of Godlewski’s leadership in the struggle to fix our broken political system.
“I’m honored to earn this endorsement. End Citizens United is a key leader in the national fight for government transparency and accountability, which are major platforms of our campaign,”’ said Godlewski. “I stand with the people of Wisconsin and against the deep pockets of corporate and special interest money. I look forward to serving as our next State Treasurer, so I can ensure that the people of Wisconsin are heard.”
Earlier this year, Godlewski pledged not to take any corporate PAC money. Her campaign has received over 600 individual contributions from across the state to fuel her grassroots campaign.
Sarah Godlewski is a fifth-generation Wisconsinite and social impact investor from Eau Claire. Godlewski will bring her financial expertise to the Office of the State Treasurer. She led the “Vote No” committee to ensure that the Treasurer’s Office would survive the referendum on April 3rd and now she will work to restore more power to the office.
Godlewski’s campaign is supported by Democratic leaders across the state, including State Senate Minority Leader Jennifer Shilling, Former Gov. Tony Earl, Former Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton, Former Congressman Dave Obey, as well as State Senator Chris Larson, State Senator Patty Schachtner, Representative Jill Billings, Representative Jonathan Brostoff, Representative Eric Genrich, Representative Evan Goyke, Representative Greta Neubauer, Representative Tod Ohnstad, Representative Amanda Stuck, Representative Lisa Subeck, Representative Chris Taylor, and Representative Dana Wachs.
