Republican Party of Milwaukee County Statement on Ripon Chamber of Commerce Moving of the Little White School House (Birthplace of GOP)
West Allis, WI – Today the RPMC was made aware that the Ripon Chamber of Commerce has moved the Birthplace of the Republican Party despite a recent decision by the National Historic Landmark Program and National Register of Historic Places. Because of the actions by the Chamber of Commerce in moving the little white schoolhouse from its location at 305 Blackburn Street, the property will now automatically be delisted from the National Registry of historic sites and the national landmark registry. RPMC Chairman Hilario Deleon released the following statement:
NOTE: This press release was submitted to Urban Milwaukee and was not written by an Urban Milwaukee writer. While it is believed to be reliable, Urban Milwaukee does not guarantee its accuracy or completeness.
Wasn’t it moved to its current location in 2023?
So why is the RPMC just now showing indignation and spewing the usual progressive leftist drivel?
In addition, this is not the first time it has been moved. Since 1951, it has been moved 6 times.
Seems like the Chamber of Commerce of Ripon, who own the building, have made it more accessible to visitors. It was on a somewhat shabby little plot of land.
Oh, *now*, ReThugLicans care about rules and functions of Federal agencies.
Had this been, say, next week, there might not have even been a department running the National Historic Landmark Program that would update the National Register of Historic Places.
