Rep. Zamarripa: Statement on Court Redistricting Decision
"The people should be picking their legislators, not the other way around."
MADISON – State Representative JoCasta Zamarripa (D-Milwaukee) issued the following statement in response to the historic court ruling which requires the state legislature to redraw its gerrymandered legislative districts:
“Today is a great day for democracy in Wisconsin. Wisconsinites deserve fair and competitive elections. The people should be picking their legislators, not the other way around. I hope my Republican colleagues will choose to redraw district maps in a completely transparent and bi partisan fashion.”
