Rep. Taylor Statement on the 2025 State of the Tribes Address

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Today, Chairman Thomas Fowler of the St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin delivered the 2025 State of the Tribes Address to a joint session of the Wisconsin State Legislature. After the conclusion of the address, Rep. Sequanna Taylor released the following statement:

“I want to thank Chairman Thomas Fowler of the St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin for delivering a meaningful and heartfelt State of the Tribes Address. The sovereign tribal nations of Wisconsin are an essential part of our state’s history, culture, and future, and it is always an honor to welcome them to the Assembly floor for this important occasion.

“Chairman Fowler’s words reminded us of the work still ahead to uplift Indigenous voices and address longstanding disparities. Today serves as a call to strengthen our partnerships and reaffirm our commitment to building a more inclusive and equitable Wisconsin.

“I look forward to continuing this work alongside our tribal nations, ensuring that progress is made not just in words but in action.”
