MADISON–Today, Representative Robyn Vining (D-Wauwatosa) announced a new series of in-district discussions called “Community Conversations.” Rep Vining issued the following statement:

“Today I am announcing a new series called, ‘Community Conversations.’ My goal is to create time and space to meet with groups within our community and hear about what is important to you, what you wish legislators better understood, and to advocate for the needs or shared values of your local community.

“Since first elected in 2018, I have been focused on shared values, and how I can serve my constituents with our shared values in mind. In the past I have held ‘topical town halls’ and roundtables focused on various topics interesting to my constituents and the legislature—all spaces where I invited you in, and I gathered people together–who may not have known each other–to discuss fairly personal topics. This new concept of ‘Community Conversations’ is for existing groups of people who already know each other and have built relationships rooted in shared values. It is my hope that we can create safe spaces for meaningful conversations, and that I can learn how you can best be served by your state legislature.

“From your moms’ and dads’ groups, communities of small business creators and entrepreneurs, disability rights groups, cooking clubs, conservation groups, public schools advocacy groups, robotics teams, high school feminist clubs, athletic groups, etc., please reach out to my office and pitch us a ‘Community Conversation’ topic. Let’s gather together, rooted in our shared values, and discuss how to move Wisconsin forward, together.”

Rep. Vining represents the 13th Assembly District, which includes Elm Grove, and parts of Wauwatosa and Brookfield. For more information visit Rep. Vining’s website here.
