Rep. Robyn Vining Honors Former Rep. Jonathan Brostoff
“We Need To Do More.”
Madison–Last week, the Wisconsin State Legislature passed a resolution honoring the life and legacy of former Representative Jonathan Brostoff. Representative Robyn Vining (D-Wauwatosa) made the following statement:
“We all know Jonathan Brostoff’s fire, and I imagine that’s what many of us thought of first when we lost him. His fight, his fire, his clear articulation of where he was on an issue. His relentless push on the issues that mattered to him.
“When former Representative Brostoff served on the Speaker’s Task Force on Suicide Prevention, he was furious the legislature was not doing enough to prevent preventable deaths. Jonathan was clear the legislature must restore the 48-hour waiting period in order to save lives.
“Jonathan wrote a column after his time on the task force. In it, he warned us: ‘Access to firearms can be a death sentence to those experiencing a mental health crisis.’
Rep. Vining represents the 13th Assembly District, which includes Elm Grove, and parts of Wauwatosa and Brookfield. For more information visit Rep. Vining’s website here.
