Rep. Robyn Vining Advocates for Standalone COVID-19 Relief Bills
MADISON – This week, Wisconsin Legislative Democrats introduced the provisions in the compromise version of Assembly Bill 1 as standalone bills.
These 22 bills address issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic including: removing barriers to unemployment benefits, support for childcare providers, eliminating cost sharing for COVID-19 testing and vaccination, increasing prescription drug limits, coverage of vaccinations under SeniorCare, Medical Assistance payments to hospitals during the pandemic, among others.Representative Robyn Vining (D-Wauwatosa) issued the following statement in response:
“Wisconsinites cannot wait any longer for a COVID-19 relief package to pass — these important provisions, which were supported by Republicans and Democrats alike during the discussions around Assembly Bill 1, need to be passed into law swiftly. If not by omnibus, then by standalone bills. There’s no excuse to wait any longer to provide the help Wisconsinites need.”
Rep. Vining represents the 14th Assembly District, which includes parts of Brookfield, Wauwatosa, and Milwaukee. For more information, visit Rep. Vining’s website here.
