Rep Moore Omokunde: Statement on BadgerCare Public Option Bill Rollout

MADISON— Today, Legislative Democrats introduced a BadgerCare Public Option bill. State Representative Supreme Moore Omokunde (D-Milwaukee) shared the following:

“Our purpose today is simple: every Wisconsinite deserves access to quality, affordable healthcare – And for too many in our state, this is not a reality. Hard-working people are falling through the cracks of our healthcare system. Our country’s health care system is driven by profit, prioritizing the interests of private corporations like insurance companies over the health and wellbeing of the American people.

Creating a public option for BadgerCare will provide Wisconsinites, like those you heard from today, with more affordable healthcare options as well as increased access to care across our state. We can, and we must, ensure that all Wisconsinites have quality, affordable health care, no matter where they live or who they are.”

Representative Moore Omokunde represents the 17th Assembly District on the North and Northwest sides of Milwaukee.
