Rep. Margaret Arney Reacts to 2025 Annual State of the Tribes Address
(MADISON, Wis) – On Tuesday, March 18th, Thomas Fowler of the St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin delivered the 21st annual State of the Tribes address. Rep. Margaret Arney (Milwaukee/Wauwatosa) released the following statement in response:
I am committed to celebrating the history of American Indians in my district. My team will work in partnership with native nations, the Wisconsin Historical Society, and resident leaders to bring historical markers to the district that honor our rich past. Wisconsin’s tribes are integral to the cultural and economic fabric of our state, from their contributions to our economy to their tireless conservation efforts. Through collaboration, respect, and shared efforts, we will work to address the unique challenges faced by both the tribes and the state, ensuring a prosperous future for all Wisconsinites. We will work together so that we will advance together.
Wisconsin’s Native tribes and State Legislators share a commitment to do what’s right for Wisconsin- our people and our land. Together we will go forward with future generations in mind. Wisconsin’s partnership with its sovereign tribal nations is one of our strengths, and I am grateful for the opportunity to reaffirm that partnership and look forward to addressing our shared needs and advancing our common values.
