Rep. Evan Goyke Announces Strong Support from Area Labor Unions in Campaign for City Attorney

MILWAUKEE, WI — Today, State Representative Evan Goyke, candidate for Milwaukee’s City Attorney, announced the support and endorsement of a number of local labor unions. To date, Goyke’s campaign has received the public endorsement of seven labor unions, including: Milwaukee Teachers’ Education Association ; Association of Federal, State, County, and Municipal Employees PEOPLE Committee ; Milwaukee Police Association; Milwaukee Professional Fire Fighters Association, Local 215 ; Milwaukee Fire Department Chief Officers Association; American Federation of Teachers Local 212; Milwaukee Area Service Hospitality Workers Organization .

“I’m honored to have labor standing with me, and I will stand with them as Milwaukee’s City Attorney. Milwaukee has a strong labor history and we share a bright future together if we have the backs of working people. I look forward to continuing to work with Labor, especially our City employees, as our next City Attorney.”

In their endorsement of Goyke’s campaign, the Milwaukee Teachers’ Education Association said, “In his campaign for City Attorney, Evan has shown he has a clear understanding about the role and responsibility of the City Attorney as the primary attorney for MPS. He has spoken passionately about his goals of holding bad actors, like slumlords, accountable. In an endorsement interview, Evan expressed his full support for the MPS referendum and the great public schools our students deserve.”
