Madison, Wis. – Today, State Representative Deb Andraca (D-Whitefish Bay) was appointed by Assembly Minority Leader Greta Neubauer (D – Racine) as the Ranking Democrat on the Assembly Committee on Forestry, Parks and Outdoor Recreation. Andraca was also appointed to the Assembly Committees on Education, Energy and Utilities, and Veterans and Military Affairs. Andraca released the following statement:

“It is my honor to serve on each of these committees and to represent the interests of my constituents and the people of Wisconsin. I am looking forward to taking a leadership role on the Committee on Forestry, Parks and Outdoor Recreation, where I can promote the stewardship, enjoyment, and conservation of Wisconsin’s unique natural resources.

“As a licensed public school teacher, I am excited to bring my experience to the Committee on Education and I am committed to a student-centered approach to education policies. I am also grateful to continue my work on the Committee on Energy and Utilities, where we have an opportunity to prioritize clean energy policies that will prepare Wisconsin for a more sustainable future.

“Having served on Governor Evers’s Blue Ribbon Commission on Veteran Opportunity earlier this year, it is a privilege to join my colleagues on the Committee on Veterans and Military Affairs. I am honored to have the opportunity to promote state policies that will best support our veterans and their families.

“I’m looking forward to the 2023-2024 legislative session with optimism and I’m ready to get to work!”
