Pumpkin Palooza, the free fall family extravaganza with a pumpkin giveaway, returns to St. Ann Center’s Bucyrus Campus on Saturday, Oct. 15. The event takes place at the Indaba Band Shell to the rear of the property at 2450 W. North Ave.

Beginning at 11 a.m., the event lasts until 1 p.m. or the pumpkins are gone. Each family can pick out one pumpkin per child from the “pumpkin patch” on the hillside. Children can then paint and decorate their pumpkins at the bandshell. Other activities planned include a not-too-scary Halloween photo booth, fun and games with Clowning Binky, goody bags for the children and apple cider.

Children are encouraged to come in costume.

“Last year, our staff and volunteers had a ball helping children choose the perfect pumpkin and decorate it,” said Gloria Miller, special events director at St. Ann Center. “We’re delighted to bring back Pumpkin Palooza to help children safely enjoy the fun and excitement of the holiday in their neighborhood.”

St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care, a nonprofit that provides daytime care for children as well as frail elders and adults with disabilities, is able to again present this event for families with the help of generous sponsors: the All of Us Research Program and Pete’s Fruit Market.
