Postpartum Medicaid Extension Passes State Senate
MADISON–The State Senate passed SB 23 today to expand postpartum healthcare coverage for Wisconsin mothers. Rep. Robyn Vining (D-Wauwatosa) issued the following statement upon passage of SB 23:
“I applaud the State Senate for coming together to pass the postpartum Medicaid extension, shifting coverage from 60 days to the critical and life-saving full year of healthcare coverage. This is what governing looks like. Let’s do more of it.
“Now, it’s our turn. The State Assembly has the votes to pass the postpartum Medicaid extension, and I look forward to my Republican colleagues calling a vote. For the sake of Wisconsin’s women and families, let’s get this done. Forward, together.”
Rep. Vining represents the 13th Assembly District, which includes Elm Grove, and parts of Wauwatosa and Brookfield. For more information visit Rep. Vining’s website here.
