Packers Announce Trade With Cowboys
The Green Bay Packers have traded DL Rashan Gary to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a fourth-round draft choice in 2027. Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction Wednesday.
“We want to thank Rashan for his commitment and hard work during his seven seasons with the Packers,” said Gutekunst. “His impact was felt both on the field and in the locker room and was key to the success of the six playoff teams that he was a part of in Green Bay. He worked incredibly hard to return from a significant knee injury sustained in 2022 and continued to be an impactful player for us once he was back on the field. We’re appreciative for all that he gave to our team, and we wish Rashan nothing but the best in the future.”Gary, who was selected by the Packers in the first round (No. 12 overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft, played in 106 regular-season games with 74 starts in seven seasons with Green Bay and recorded 271 tackles (154 solo), 46½ sacks, 111 QB hits, seven forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries and six passes defensed. He also appeared in nine postseason contests with five starts and registered 20 tackles (10 solo), 4½ sacks and 10 QB hits. He ranks No. 6 in franchise history (since 1982) in career sacks and registered five-plus sacks in each of his final six seasons in Green Bay. Gary led the team in sacks (7½) and QB hits (15) in 2024 on the way to earning his first career Pro Bowl selection. In 2021, he led the Packers with a career-high 9½ sacks and a career-best 28 QB hits.
