Olsen and Braden Break Program Records at Meyo Invite Saturday
Golden Eagles travel to Blue Demon Alumni Classic next Saturday in Chicago
Marquette University track and field wrapped up competition at three events on Saturday.
Golden Eagles competed at the Meyo Invite (South Bend, Indiana), Mark Schuck Multi (Mankato, Minnesota) and Lake Michigan Open (Kenosha, Wisconsin).Daylee Braden broke her own program record in the indoor 800m at 2:09.17 at Notre Dame. Braden ran a 2:09.58 800m at the New Balance Collegiate Showdown on Saturday, Jan. 18.
Danny Olsen ran a 47.92 second indoor 400m today at Notre Dame to set a new program record.
John Pitta finished second in the triple jump at 13.67m at Notre Dame.
“That was a fun meet in South Bend,” Bert Rogers said.” Three school records and a bunch of PRs. We accomplished what we planned for and now will look to build off moving forward!”
Gus Kasun finished sixth in the heptathlon with 4,535 points at the Mark Schuck Multi in Mankato, Minnesota. Cole Donahe finished eighth with 4,292 points.
Sophie Herriot finished first in pole vault at the Lake Michigan Open hosted by UW-Parkside. The sophomore cleared a height of 3.45m for a new PR.
