On Saturday, April 17th from 10 am – 2 pm, the Near West Side Partners (NWSP) in partnership with United Methodist Children Services (UMCS) will be hosting a joint community cleanup, according to Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II.

UMCS covers the Washington Park neighborhood and NWSP covers the near west side communities.

Volunteers will receive pickers, bags, vests and will also be provided snacks. Attendees will be practicing social distancing and masks will need to be worn to work in small groups while spread apart. “Each volunteer must register and provide the information requested as we plan to keep volunteers up-to-date on any changes,” Alderman Stamper said.

“After a long year filled with distress and turmoil, a joint community cleanup is the perfect segue into what we can hopefully expect is the start of our return to normalcy,” Alderman Stamper said. “The first step toward living in a safe community is cleanliness, and I am inviting all members who can attend to join in the clean-up and contribute to making our neighborhoods a cleaner place to live.”

The link to register can be found here, link to register. For any questions regarding the clean-up or registration process, e-mail director@nearwestsidepartners.org or call 414-350-4079 for more information.
