Nwagbaraocha Discusses Candidacy for MPS Board
Milwaukee, WI – Former Milwaukee Public Schools administrator Victor Nwagbaraocha [ wä·ba·rō·chä ] declared his candidacy for the school board race for the district four seat earlier this year in May.
Nwagbaraocha taught in Milwaukee Public Schools and later became an assistant principal at Malcolm X Academy and Bayview high school. A thirty-year career in education, administration, and working with youth has prepared Nwagbaraocha for a school board seat with MPS. He provided leadership and administrative support in several areas, such as student affairs, special education, and parent/community engagement.
The veteran educator believes the plethora of experience he has acquired over the years has served his community well, –
“I take pride in using my skills to foster open communication, collaboration, and support. I am committed to issues of social justice. In 2000, I founded Positive Images Inc. (www.pi4youth.org), whose mission was to expose students to academic and career opportunities.”
Nwagbaraocha trusts his educational versatility will enhance the school board as a whole,
“With administrative, teacher and, support team expertise, I bring a unique blend of skills in both administrative and teaching arena. My experience spans curriculum development, parent and student engagement, cultural awareness, preparing annual business and budget plans, and directing staff training initiatives.”
Improving community and family involvement, promoting scholastic activities, student engagement in the community and civic areas are just some of the goals Nwagbaraocha will champion as a member of the MPS board.
