Nominations Now Open for Cream of the Cream City Awards
The Historic Preservation Commission is once again accepting nominees for the Cream of the Cream City Awards. The awards, sponsored by the City’s Historic Preservation Commission and the Common Council, recognize individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions in the field of historic preservation and heritage education/advocacy in the City of Milwaukee.
The awards recognize projects large and small which have preserved the rich history of Milwaukee found in its varied architecture from the 19th and 20th centuries. Historic Preservation Commissioner Alderman Robert J. Bauman is encouraging those who have engaged in preservation efforts to apply.
Nominations are being accepted now through Monday, April 7. Any individual, organization, or project involved in historic preservation in the City of Milwaukee within the last five years is eligible to apply.
Additional information, including eligibility and application instructions, along with previous award winners can be found by visiting Milwaukee.gov/CreamCityAwards. Award winners will be recognized during a special ceremony at Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery on Thursday, May 29.
