Milwaukee City Treasurer Spencer Coggs announces that the City of Milwaukee Combined Property Tax Bills have started to go out in the mail and are currently available online at http://www.milwaukee.gov/treasurer. The full tax payment or the initial installment payment is due on or before January 31, 2026.

Taxpayers that do not receive their property tax bills by Friday, December 26, 2025, should contact the City Treasurer’s Office, Customer Service Division, at 414-286-2240, and request a duplicate tax bill.

The City Treasurer’s Office is open Monday through Friday, from 8:15 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. City Hall will open to the public at 7:30 A.M during the tax collection period of December 15, 2025, to February 5, 2026. The office will be closed on the following City Holidays: December 24, 25, & 31, 2025, as well as January 1 & 19, 2026. The City Treasurer’s Office only accepts cash or checks for in person payments.

During the period of Monday, December 15, 2025 through Thursday, February 5, 2026, a limited number of free 15-minute parking spaces will be available on the east side of North Water Street between East Wells Street and East Kilbourn Avenue, on the east side of North Market Street between East Wells Street and East Kilbourn Avenue, and on the south side of East Kilbourn Avenue between North Market Street and North Broadway.

Handicapped parking will be available on the south side of East Kilbourn Avenue between North Water Street and North Market Street and on the north side of East Wells Street between North Market Street and North Broadway.

Treasurer Coggs strongly encourages taxpayers to consider one of the following convenient property tax payment options as an alternative to visiting City Hall:

Pay by Mail via U.S. Postal Service – Pay by check using the return remittance envelope included with the tax bill. NO CASH PAYMENTS. Taxpayers should mail early to avoid late delivery and to avoid going tax delinquent.

Pay by Phone or Online – Call Customer Service at 414-286-2240 during regular office hours, or visit http://www.milwaukee.gov/treasurer to pay by credit or debit card with a 2.75% transaction fee ($2.50 minimum fee). Payments made by phone with a credit/debit card also incur a $0.50 IVR fee in addition to the 2.75% transaction fee. ACH debits to checking or savings accounts have no transaction fees.

Enroll in Tyler AutoPay – Call Customer Service at 414-286-2240, or visit http://www.milwaukee.gov/treasurer. Taxpayers who were enrolled in Tyler AutoPay for their 2024 tax payments should login to verify their customer information, enrollment and payment information.

 

Taxpayers will be mailed an official tax payment receipt for paid in full bills. Installment payments will be acknowledged on the next installment billing statement.

For additional information on the 2025 Combined Property Tax Bills or on making property tax payments, taxpayers should reference the white insert included with the tax bills or visit the City Treasurer’s Home Page at: http://www.milwaukee.gov/treasurer.

Taxpayers may also call the City Treasurer’s Office, Customer Service Division, at 414-286-2240, during business hours, with any questions on their tax bills or payment options.
