MU Alums To Compete In Q School Final Stage

MILWAUKEE – Beginning on Thursday, former Marquette teammates, Hunter Eichhorn and Tyler Leach, will be in a field of 176 golfers all vying for their PGA Tour card during the Final Stage of the 2025 PGA TOUR Q-School presented by Korn Ferry.

Four rounds, two on the Dye’s Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass and two at Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedre Beach, Florida, will serve as the sites for this year’s Final Stage. Eichhorn and Leach are two of 176 players in the field with only the top five finishers earning their PGA TOUR membership for 2026.

Saturday and Sunday’s rounds will air on the NBC Sports App and the Golf Channel.

• Saturday: 12-2 p.m. CT (NBC Sports App), 2-4 p.m. CT (Golf Channel)
• Sunday: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. CT (NBC Sports App), 1-3 p.m. CT (Golf Channel)

Eichhorn and Leach both secured their spot in the Final Stage after earning medalist honors at their Second Stage sites on Dec. 5. Eichhorn won his Second Stage in Savannah, Georgia at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club while Leach won his in Tucson, Arizona at The Club at Starr Pass. Those wins also guaranteed both Korn Ferry Tour membership for the first 10 events of the 2026 season.

“What special day that was for Marquette Golf,” said Head Coach Steve Bailey. “Advancing to Q School finals is arguably the toughest hurdle in professional golf. To not only advance but for both to win Second Stage is unprecedented for a Marquette golfer. It’s a life-changing accomplishment and I can’t wait to watch them flourish!”

Eichhorn won his Second Stage with a 21-under par, two shots clear of second. Leach on the other hand put together a staggering back nine to earn his spot. His 7-under par 28 on the final nine holes at the Second Stage was what Golf Channel reporter Brentley Romine called “arguably the greatest finishing stretch in the history of Q school” as the Marquette alum went from two outside the score needed to qualify to winning the tournament.

Leach was also the only player in this year’s field to win medalist honors at both the First and Second Stage.

During the first three stages this year, there were 19 rounds of 64 or better. Two of those came from the former Golden Eagles—Eichhorn (62) and Leach (63). Eichhorn’s 62 was the lowest score across all three stages.
