Msoc Earns 4-0 Win Over Chicago State on Sunday

Golden Eagles host Wisconsin Saturday at 7 p.m. CT

MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men’s soccer team continued its season-opening six-game homestand with a 4-0 win over Chicago State on Sunday.

The Golden Eagles (2-0-2, 0-0-0 BIG EAST) were led by Mitchell Dryden, who scored his second goal in as many games to open the scoring in the eighth minute.

Joey Buchanan earned his second start of the season and scored his first career goal and recorded his first career assists. The freshman defender had a career-high two shots on goal.

Nico Pendleton had a career-high three points with a goal and an assist. Hudson Torrez made his Marquette debut and scored in the 77th minute, the lone goal of the second half.

Cameron Simpson got the start and recorded his second career clean sheet paired with a career-high three saves.

NOTABLES:

  • Marquette improves to 1-0 all-time against Chicago State.
  • All four Marquette goals were assisted on.
