MILWAUKEE (July 8, 2024) – The Morning Glory Art Fair, presented by Wisconsin Craft, returns to Deer District from Aug. 10-11 for its 49th annual event. The fair is free to attend and will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.

One of the region’s premier outdoor art events, the Morning Glory Art Fair attracts more than 130 artists from nine states to showcase their work. Artists are individually selected to participate based on a committee review of their portfolio and will submit artwork in at least one of 10 categories: ceramics; fiber arts; glass; jewelry; mixed media; painting and drawing; photography and digital art; printmaking; and sculpture and wood. The rigorous review process ensures that the Morning Glory Art Fair presents the highest levels of fine craft and art each year.

“Art lifts the mind, body and soul,” said Kate Marotz, President of Wisconsin Craft. “Our organization is dedicated to making art accessible to all and supporting the professional artists who create pieces that enrich our lives.”

The Morning Glory Art Fair is the first of two signature, annual events hosted by Wisconsin Craft to support local artists. The MKE Studio Tour provides an opportunity to meet local artists and explore their unique studio spaces. Wisconsin Craft also offers an online directory for people to easily purchase signature items from more than 75 artists.

I want to be sure that I understand the musical events in the Deer District. Were these going on all through June? What kind of music do they play? Why am I only hearing about this now? (The ad said it began May 31st)! Why am I always so “ out of it??”
