MILWAUKEE, WI — The Marquette University men’s lacrosse team (3–4, 0–0 BIG EAST) fell to the University of Utah (5-2, 0-0 ASUN), 16–7, on Wednesday afternoon at Valley Fields.

Carsen Brandt led the Golden Eagles offensively with five points on two goals and three assists. Five other Golden Eagles finished with one point.

The Golden Eagles came out strong early, scoring three first-quarter goals to keep pace with Utah in a fast start. Marquette added two more in the second quarter to stay within striking distance, but the Utes carried a narrow 7–5 advantage into halftime after a competitive opening half.

Utah pulled away after the break, using a six-goal third quarter and a 9-0 run to create separation. The Utes continued to control play in the fourth and closed out the game to secure the 16–7 final.

UP NEXT:

The Golden Eagles return to action next Saturday, March 21 to wrap up non-conference play as they travel to Louisville, Kentucky to take on the Knights of Bellarmine University. Opening face-off is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. CT
