MilwaukeeJobs.com Presents Free Entertainment at Marcus Center’s Peck Pavilion
Live @ Peck Pavilion will feature the following:
MILWAUKEE, WI (Thursday, July 23, 2015) – MilwaukeeJobs.com is proud to present Live @ Peck Pavilion on the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts grounds this summer. The season starts this Sunday, July 26 and runs through August 22. Each day of the series will have a different program focus and all events will all be free and open to the public.
Live @ Peck Pavilion will feature the following:
Sunday Afternoon Band Concerts: Performances by military service bands and local community bands and orchestras. Performances will include the Navy Band Great Lakes (7/26), Tosa Jazz (8/2), 132nd Army Band (8/9) and The Concord Chamber Orchestra (8/16).
Tuesday Evening Dance Concerts: After work performances by Milwaukee area dance companies including: Danceworks (7/28), Xalaat Africa Drum and Dance (8/4), Ballet Folklórico Nacional (8/11) and Pommersche Tanzdeel Freistadt (8/18).
Friday Lunch Concerts: Noon performances for the downtown lunch crowd featuring Broadway Lunch with Niffer Clarke and Paul Helm (7/31), The Florentine Opera (8/7 & 8/14), and Mike Schneider Polkas (8/21).
Peck Flicks: The family friendly movie series continues with screenings of The Mighty Ducks (7/31), Back to the Future (8/6), ET: The Extra Terrestrial (8/14) and Field of Dreams (8/21.)
The Live at Peck Pavilion series will culminate in a day-long celebration titled: Taste of Islands. This one-day celebration will focus on island culture with music, art and food. The first year will focus on Cuba and the Dominican Republic with other islands to follow in coming seasons. Local favorites De La Buena and MadiSalsa will perform with free salsa-dance lessons plus kids activities being planned.
The 2015 season of Live @ Peck marks a distinct evolution for the series that had offered Tuesday evening ticketed events. This year, events will take place multiple times during each week to offer more opportunities for audiences across the Milwaukee region to attend these diverse events. With the support of MilwaukeeJobs.com, all of Milwaukee can enjoy and experience the expanded schedule featuring 17 different performances.
Marcus Center’s Peck Pavilion features fixed seats in a covered pavilion along the beautiful Milwaukee Riverwalk. Events are presented rain or shine.
Performance dates and times for all the events for the Live @ Peck Pavilion series are available at www.MarcusCenter.org. All performances are free and open to the public. Food and beverage will be available for purchase for all events from Sazama’s River’s Edge Patio. No carry in food or beverages are allowed.
