Milwaukee Public Market Transforms Dinky Rink into Dinky Links: A Mini Golf Adventure
Milwaukee, WI – May 22, 2024 – The Milwaukee Public Market‘s Dinky Rink, known as the area’s smallest ice-skating rink, has been whimsically transformed into Dinky Links, a miniature golf course that retains its charmingly compact size. This new attraction not only provides a unique recreational experience but also supports a great cause, benefiting the local charity First Tee — Southeast Wisconsin, a youth development organization that empowers kids and teens through golf.
Paul Schwartz, Executive Director of the Milwaukee Public Market and Business Improvement District #2, commented on the new attraction, saying, “At the Milwaukee Public Market, we believe in the power of public spaces to bring people together and foster meaningful connections. Dinky Links offers the perfect opportunity for the community to do so, providing a playful and humorous setting where everyone is welcome to join in on the fun—except for gophers, of course.”
Dinky Links is open now through June 30. Participants must register in advance due to limited availability. Upon arrival at their reserved time slot at the Public Market, participants will be required to make a $20 donation towards the First Tee — Southeast Wisconsin charity. This donation secures a 60-minute session for up to 15 people. All necessary golf equipment is provided at no additional cost and can be picked up at the Milwaukee Public Market office on the 2nd level.
David Cohn, Executive Director of First Tee — Southeast Wisconsin, expressed enthusiasm about Dinky Links, stating, “We are grateful for the collaboration with and contributions from Dinky Links. Each donation made through this wonderful initiative directly supports our efforts to use the game of golf to help young people build the strength of character that they carry to everything they do.”
