MILWAUKEE – Many will fondly remember the Brewers baseball trading cards distributed by Milwaukee Police Department officers for many years, a program that helped officers connect with youth through their mutual love for baseball. The program is being relaunched with updated cards of fan favorites such as Christian Yelich, Willy Adames and William Contreras and children in Milwaukee can receive those updated cards from MPD officers.

“Our officers look forward to handing out Brewers baseball cards and interacting with kids in the city,” said Milwaukee Police Department Chief Jeffrey B. Norman, “It’s a great way to be able to reach Milwaukee youth and connect with the kids through baseball.”

“The baseball card program of the past provided youth with a connection to our city and to baseball,” said Rick Schlesinger, Brewers President – Business Operations, “We are pleased to help revive this campaign, support MPD and help create future generations of baseball fans.”The Milwaukee Brewers have a long-established commitment to the Greater Milwaukee area and throughout Wisconsin through the Brewers Community Foundation (BCF) and “Beyond The Diamond” efforts. The Brewers efforts are engrained in the community through thoughtful initiatives, financial contributions, player appearances, volunteer time and more. The Club has a commitment to positively impact the lives of children and families and for more than a decade, BCF has generated more than $55 million to support local non-profits in the areas of health, education, recreation and basic needs. Approximately 200 non-profit organizations receive funding annually through the Foundation’s initiatives.
